type of drink
Paradise Island Barbados bathes in turquoise waves and lazes in the sun. Rum origin is connected with sugar industry exuberance in the island in XVII century. At that time Barbadians made an important discovery: it turned out, if in a black molasses (a by-product of sugar refining) to add some water and wait for some time, the treacle began to ferment. After experimenting with distillation it was managed to get the first samples of the rum, which was called "rambullion". In 1703 the plantation was granted a title. It is the first written proof of distillation of rum alcohol. Thus, the brand Mount Gay is rightfully considered an ancestor of all rums.
