For many years, Kozatska Rada has been surprising us with vodka, which has become a symbol of our country: strong and legendary. History is changing, and we are changing too. Now you can see the first Ukrainian gin of Kozatska Rada trademark on the shelves in stores.

Our expert, Ivan Lucii, a brand manager of Kozatska Rada TM, tells us about the idea of creating and expanding the brand's alcohol line, the uniqueness of the recipe and harmonious combinations of gin.

The idea for the drink came from a request from the export department of BAYADERA. There was no such drink in our portfolio, which we supply to more than 30 countries. The brand "Kozatska Rada" was chosen as the foundation for the introduction of a new product for a reason. Back in the 16th century, the characterists and Cossacks in the Zaporizhzhya Sich made something similar using different herbs. The culture of gin consumption and production is the fastest growing category in Ukraine. We have the culture, technology and people who know how to make these drinks. Therefore, for us, gin was an interesting challenge for both the global and Ukrainian consumers. I believe that we have coped with it.

What distinguishes Kozatska Rada gin from others in this category?

- Firstly, it should be noted that there are no other gins in our country that are made using the gin technology, according to the State Standard for the Production of Alcoholic Beverages. It is very important that we are the first in Ukraine.

There are other production facilities that make an "artificial product" using a similar gin technology, but it differs significantly from industrial gins. Therefore, we can only compare ourselves with our imported counterparts. Another important factor is that no other gin in the world is made from our Ukrainian juniper. Moreover, in blind tastings held abroad, our gin shared the first place with another imported gin. However, unlike imported gin, Kozatska Rada gin has a more affordable price so that every consumer can enjoy the drink.

We offered a consumer our interpretation of Kozatska Rada gin, which is made using gin technology. It is not an infusion or  an alcoholic beverage, it is 100% gin. The product itself is made from Ivano-Frankivsk juniper. Moreover, the production process takes quite a long time. You need to understand that it cannot be produced in a few days. The main feature of our product is the distillation of alcohol from juniper infusion. Therefore, the technology is complex and time-consuming.

What are the main features of this drink (notes, flavor, etc.)? What does it go good with?

Anyone who has consumed this drink at least once will recognize the taste.  Kozatska Rada gin is very pure, organic and mild. It contains citrus and coniferous notes. The flavor reveals floral tones. In terms of consumption, our culture is still developing and differs significantly from the world. Nevertheless, Kozatska Rada GIN tastes great both straight with ice and in cocktails.
