Nikolaev Brandy Distillery started its work in 2015 specially for production of the brandy under the TM KOBLEVO. This is a modern enterprise with a complete production cycle – from growing grapes to bottling finished product.
Koblevo vineyards are situated between Tylihul Estuary and the Black Sea on the 46th parallel – the most favourable geographic location for winemaking in the world, where Cognac and Armagnac regions are located as well.
A special vineyards terroir – the mild climate and the best possible number of sunny days – create the perfect conditions for growing grapes.
Traditional white grape varieties Aligoté and Rkatsiteli, which are perfectly suited for production of top-quality brandy spirits following the classical French technology, are grown on thousands of hectares.
There are alembics made of red copper and installed at the enterprise. They were manufactured in the legendary Charente and Armagnac. The alembics were set up and started by France-based Chalvignac company – a well-known producer of cognac distilling equipment since 1948.
For seasoning of brandy spirits oak barrels are used. They are made of peculiar petiolate and durmast oak trees, which grow in the Carpathians and are at least 80 years old. The wood must undergo no less than three years of natural fermentation process.
The factory is equipped with a cutting-edge bottling line, produced by an Italian manufacturer. Its production capacity is 6 thousand bottles per hour. The overall production capacity of the factory is 24 mln bottles per year.
The technologists, employed at Nikolaev Brandy Plant, use a unique innovative approach: alongside with the basic maturing of brandy in oak barrels, the blending additionally ages in oak barrels. This gives the brandies a special softness.
The main heritage of any brandy production is a collection of spirits. The work on making its own collection of brandies has just started at Nikolaev Brandy Distillery.
