By the end of the 18th century, Jean-Rémy Moët, grandson of the founder, Claude Moët, became famous as the man who introduced champagne to the world. Important figures of the era, from Marquise de Pompadour to Talleyrand and Napoleon, quickly fell in love with the House's sparkling wines. Moët & Chandon was an icon of success and elegance, and remains so to this day.
