LAVANTEREUX is a small family-run domaine that was founded in 1978. Today, the farm owns 19 hectares of vineyards near the village of Ligneurels, which is 6 kilometers from the village of Chablis. The winery was founded by Roland Lavantureux, who, after graduating from the Faculty of Oenology in Bonn, decided to take up winemaking in his native land and founded the family domaine. Over time, his two sons joined him: one began to help in the winemaking processes, and the other was responsible for marketing and contracts. A distinctive feature of the winery is their Petit Chablis, which, depending on the vintage, is often able to compete with many of its older counterparts. At one time, these wines were repeatedly unofficially recognized as the best Petit Chablis in the region. In the vineyards, the family does not use pesticides to control pests, preferring natural winemaking. New oak is used minimally during aging, trying to emphasize the mineralogy and freshness of the wines.
